The Sanda

The Sanda was founded in the beginning of 1993, in Tbilisi. The group began its activity in soft rock and in blues genre. After this in the group appear folk rock elements. On the whole, Britain folk are surpluses in sonorousness of the group, but in some compositions, there are Georgian folk elements too . After year and the half working, “The Sanda” conducted its first solo concert (Railway-men Culture House , Tbilisi ); after this the group have several solo concerts on the various stages of the city. “The Sanda” was participant and one of organizers of festivals “The Hands” (Theatre “Khazbegi”) and “Margarita” (The park of Vake) which were conducted in 1996 in Tbilisi. The tour areas of the group included the cities of West and East sides (Georgia), also sea sides regions of Adjara. In 1997 , the group stopped creative activity - because of finance problems. In 2006 “The Sanda” gathered again and continued working. In the same year they recorded their first album “The Return”.

    on Feb 18, 2011 SANDA shall perfom at Tbilisi Rock Club( located opposite the State Opera House on Rustaveli Ave.) !

    SANDA has organized a modern music festival " Music for Music". The Festival will go on for 9 days(June 18-June 26, 2011. Each evening ther'll be performing three to four Bands.The genre will be of really very wide range: Classic, Folk, Jazz-Rap,Grunge, post Funkie,post Metal, Electro and much much more...The event'll take place at Athoneli Theatre, Tbilisi.Door'll open at 19:30 pm.
